About us

Stephen Sergenese & Jerrica Li

Henceforth Farm is two first-generation farmers who are passionate about growing fresh, high quality organic produce and cut flowers. We produce more than 40 varieties of organic vegetables and herbs and over 50 varieties of cut flowers for our market stand, CSA shares, and wholesale.
As new farmers, we are being hosted in Harriston, ON, nestled between the garden rows and grazing pastures of Reroot Organic Farm. We steward this land in full recognition of the organic principles that Reroot Farm protects and upholds.

The foundation of our farm is built upon our dedicated network of CSA members. Click here to find out more about what Community Supported Agriculture means and how you can become a member.

The Crop

Vegetables, herbs & cut flowers

The focus of our vegetable production is to provide our CSA members with a full range of greens, roots, and fruits to feed their families from early spring to late fall. We offer many staples that you rely on but we’re also the purveyors of the anomalous, the unique, and the as-yet unknown varieties. We want to supply a diverse range of vegetables in a way that only small-scale producers can.

Our cut flower operation is based on experience working in floral design studios across Southern Ontario. We grow cut flowers for both retail and wholesale while providing specialized design services based on local flora and seasonal availability.

Our design strategy is meant to highlight the fleeting ethereal beauty of every bloom. We draw inspiration from the very colours, shapes, and textures that fill our garden as we combine traditional methods with modern design.

2018 Waterloo CSA

Community supported agriculture (CSA) is about commitment and participation with your local food chain. Memberships are sold in the spring while the farmers are busy in the greenhouse and preparing the garden beds for the springtime thaw. The CSA season begins in mid-June but the growing season must start many months prior. As your farmers are busy choosing seeds, maintaining equipment, and bringing the garden to life, your membership fees help us bear the burden of commitment to the land and it is the beginning of your sustained and meaningful connection with the farm.

20-week CSA shares

Henceforth Farm provides 20 weeks of organic vegetables, and herbs to a community of CSA members in Waterloo.
We strive to offer a rich and diverse selection of roots, fruits, and leafy greens every single week. As the seasons pass and the cool spring air turns to hot July days the garden offerings will change and your CSA shares will reflect that story of the seasons.

Regular and Large Shares

CSA shares come in 2 different sizes to meet the unique needs of every household. We will bring between 8-12 different vegetables and herbs every week: a regular sized share is meant for a household of 2 omnivores. Large shares are designed for families with 3-4 omnivores. If you are uncertain which share size is right for you, please contact us and we’ll be happy to figure out what best meets your needs.
